Teenage mothers ­– When children have children

Thousands of teenagers, young women under the age of 20, become pregnant in Germany every year. Most of these pregnancies are completely unplanned. You find yourself in the middle of school exam stress or you are looking for your first job as a trainee. Pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood present young people with challenges that they had no idea about beforehand. But one thing is clear: it turns your life upside down.
With the series “Teen mothers – When children have children”, RTL2 dedicates a documentary series to young parents-to-be that has become a real long-running hit. For over than 10 years now and in over 126 episodes, the documentary series has followed teenagers and their families on the journey to becoming parents. The series depicts exciting, beautiful, but also sad and dramatic real-life moments, and sensitively brings to life how adolescents become near-adult mothers.
